“Be In The Know: Drug Trends, Risks, and Consequences,” is a Wellness and Prevention focused, psycho-educational, evidence-informed presentation designed for counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists seeking to enhance their clinical work through wellness and prevention frameworks.
This course explores the multifaceted topic of adolescent substance use, including, but not limited to: the stages of substance use disorders, different types of substances most commonly used by young people, how early drug use impacts brain development and overall health, how teens are accessing substances, and why they are choosing to do so. The training also identifies harm reduction techniques, discusses symptoms and signs of substance use among teenagers, and provides first steps to seeking treatment for youth and families.
