District of Columbia Stabilization Center

The District of Columbia Stabilization Center (“DCSC”), operated by Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) in partnership with the DC Department of Behavioral Health, will offer immediate, 24 hours/day, 365 days/year, no cost, low-barrier access to Crisis Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services for individuals 18 years of age and older, regardless of gender, insurance, and citizenship status.

The DCSC will provide individuals experiencing an SUD crisis with person-centered and a recovery-oriented alternative to unnecessary encounters at emergency departments or interactions with law enforcement. The DCSC will ensure those individuals seeking or referred for services will receive an integrated and comprehensive care to address their specific needs in a supportive clinical and recovery-oriented environment.

Services provided are supported by a multidisciplinary team made of Medical Professionals, Registered Nurses, Peer Support Specialists, Social Workers, and Patient Care Technicians.

CBI will operate the DCSC utilizing our pioneered “No Wrong Door” approach meaning that regardless of the number of times an individual has sought services, their desire for abstinence, their current situation or condition, CBI will never refuse services to an individual or emergency responder and will work with that individual to determine and transition to the needed level of care with minimal use of community safety net services.
