This continuing education training explores the impact of change on both professionals and clients—1CE credit with completing the course.

Program Description:

The Building Resiliency and Reducing Stress in Behavioral Health continuing education training is designed for counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists to explore the impact of change on both professionals and clients. Participants will examine the physiological responses to change and stress, engage in guided self-reflection, and deepen their understanding of compassion fatigue and burnout. The training emphasizes practical coping strategies to reduce the risk of burnout—not only for the provider but also to protect the therapeutic relationship and patient outcomes. Attendees will leave with tools to strengthen professional resilience and support sustainable, compassionate care.

Agenda and Overview of Program:

Understanding Change (15 minutes):

  • Introductions and course overview
  • Self-exploration of personal reactions and patterns
  • Understanding physiological and emotional responses to change

Burnout & Compassion Fatigue (20 minutes):

  • Definitions of burnout and compassion fatigue
  • Signs and symptoms of burnout and compassion fatigue

Resiliency-Building Strategies:

  • Evidence-based coping skills and stress reduction techniques
  • Future considerations to reduce the impact of stress on behavioral healthcare
  • Closing and Re-cap
